There is so much craziness going on right now that I gave on deciding on ONE thing to blog about.

  1. R.I.P. Laquan McDonald and Jamar Clark.

Man, this recent weeks have been a taxing on but one that is well worth the sweat, pain and tears that those BLM protesters have to go through.

I was looking at the reports about Laquan and I prayed to god that they would not show when he got shot. Thankfully, they didn't on my local news station, but even if they would have, I don't think I could have stood to see it. To me, shooting a human being 16 times tells a lot about that police officer --that he has animalistic, racist instinct. I bet that he was a racist because only a sick racist person like hi would be so cold and calculated to shoot a person those many times. Though I'm happy that the cop is being charged with murder..you can never believe it.Until he is actually behind prison bars serving 10 or more years behind there, I distrust the charges.

It shouldn't have taken a whole year for the officer to be charged but as always Black lives certainly doesn't matter to racist police officers and far as Chicago's mayor, he should be recalled. Now all want to play Marilyn Mosby. Don't they all think they waited too long to do it?

I'm hoping that justice for Jamar will be swift. I'm also happy that those 5 BLM didn't receive life threatening from thos gunshots and that they continue to march for Jamar and in the name of justice.

Though I cannot say what I will/will not do, one thing I wouldn't want is for them to surrender their cause. I'm quite sure that is what those White supremacists wanted. Jamar's folks wanted the protesters to call it a day, with all due respect, I'm glad that they didn't. The work that BLM may be hard, dangerous and sometimes..discouraging,but that is what people before them did. They had to take risks, life is all about risks. There is no easy way out in seeking the truth.

What BLM is doing reminds me of a scripture in the bible about Mescach, Shadrach and Ibendigo( sp?)..the three Hebrew boys( Daniel 3), where they defied King Nebuchadnezzar for not wanting to stand for an idol that they didn't believe in. It didn't matter how many times the king threatened the with the lake of fire, they, refused to do what he said and even said that in case they died, that they would have had no regrets standing up against the King. At the end God took care of the king ,while the three Hebrew boys was blessed by god. There are other scriptures in the bible about heroics including, Jehosophat(sp?) ( 2nd Chron.20:17)fighting against 30,000 men and of course, David shooting down Goliath with his slingshot. God didn't call the fools or tell them " Run..you can't beat them.." The same people who would accuse these guys of " acting stupid" was revered by the Lord.

Just thinking about this have me to think about people who accuse BLM of acting a fool, being " terrorist or just telling these guys to give their cause up because they think it is extremely hard work. Some will even evoke god in it and say that god wouldn't believe in this cause. I don't know how god see BLM,but judging by those scriptures , none of those people ran away from their adversaries and end up winning at the end. Some folks also didn't get what they wanted but he doesn't call it vain.( Hebrews 11 )

I guess that is why Deray McKesson says " We will win" because those who will still in the battle will see hope, whether they are dead or alive. Dr. King didn't live to see what he and his friends did for this generation of young people. Not everything came to light, but some others did. The day BLM stop fighting will be the day that we will have given racists the power to destroy us. That's a promise.

I want to say thank you for writing all this because I have been side eyeing the Black lives matter movement due to the sexism and some of it seeming infiltrated but I have never thought of it this way. The Bible shows us those who fight not run away. I thank you so much for writing this. It hurts me to say but I have felt so much pain from all these lives dying that I have numbed myself. I hate feeling helpless and feeling like I can't help my people. It shocks me how unmoved I was and I need to check that. Black lives Black women lives matter too much to me to become desensitized. I feel like that's what they want, they want us to feel so helpless and defeated and desensitized to the killing of our own people that we go back to the days of simply letting them do whatever they want and live in fear. Flip that. Yes its emotionally draining but God is the creator and writer of our stories even if things don't look up right now our future descendents will be better off and that is what is most important. The Bible says to store up wealth for the future generations not just the generation directly after you. M thank you so much again. May these people's souls rest in peace.

    2. You're most welcome.

When I first thought about putting anything bible related on here, I was thinking how there could be readers/potential readers who are not Christians , that they worship god from another religious group or that they are secular and even if they are, I do respect everybody's views about spirituality.

I just brought up these scriputures--from a Christian standpoint since that is my background. It had me to think about the "what if" about life. You hear all sort of nutcases like the G.O.P or know-it-all racists who will accuse folks ..and have accused.. folks like BLM and freedomfighters of the past of being " terrorists","racists" or " ill mannered" because they march in the name of justice.

I'm obviously not god and I'm not going to pretend that I know it all because I don't..far from it..but whenever I hear people tell Black folks how they should act during protest..which is not to say nothing, it had me to think about those scriptures, to see how we should react to dire situations like the ones we face today and certainly ,it's not to sit there and sing kumbaya about it and sacrifices have to be made even if could be potentially costly but if you faint not, you will be rewarded--that is what the good lord said.

      Preach!

It's ok to have those feelings of helplessness. Even I've read those Twitter pages of Shaun King , Deray McKesson or Johnetta Elzie and on occasion, they'll express their feeling of being tired and discouraged ..it's normal because what they're doing is not easy at all.

Just like you mentioned, they want Black people to get get so discouraged that they would just give up on themselves, but if they knew anything about achieving goals, they would realize that you will never tire of doing what's right..especially, if it's about civil rights.

  4. Wow..a mass shooting and the month is just beginning!

Law enforcement is still trying to avoid the "T" word to describe the killers.. as terrorists. I was writing a post on Brotha's blog telling him that I wouldn't be surprised that the killers are White. Just like some people have said, if these guys were from other races or if they were Muslims.. they would have quickly said it was them and just notice how quick they were to talking about the possibly being overseas terrorists like they subliminally wanted folks to put the blame on Arabs/Muslims/non-white people.

Though law enforcement are doing their best to downplay this..I could be wrong..but people have been saying that White people shot the workers and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case. Notice how secretive they're being with the suspects( Before two of them died) and how much they don't want to call the killings terrorism. Only White people can get away with killing a wad of people and not have the dubious title put on the.

  5. Here is something positive. I happened upon this while looking through a small natural hair magazine (www.newgrowthhair.com).

  6. I am really troubled by Islamaphobia. In addition to racism from everyone else. Two-Native American women murdered in Minnesota and the continuation of the assault of Aboriginal/First Nations/Native women. Some days anxiety fills me to the brim. I can only do so much to counter racism and hate.
