The Bar Pours a Sip for Maya Angelou

And now....let's briefly turn our attention to someone who actually served a purpose while they were alive.

  2. I'm going to miss her profound speeches and writings. Another great has been taken away from us too soon.

  3. Her life was waaaaaay harder than, ahem, someone else's. And yet look at what she did with it.

For some odd reason, I thought she'd be around for a lot longer. I fully expected her to be celebrating her 100+ birthday before she left us, but life had other plans. She left quite a legacy behind her, and Lord knows she went through and did enough in her life to earn her rest.

  5. There are VERY FEW people in the celebrity world that I would shed a tear over. And I do not consider Dr. Angelou a celebrity. She was soooo much bigger than that. There are no words that can do justice in describing her. When I heard that she had passed I couldn't help, but tear up. She will be greatly missed!

  7. There are just not enough superlatives or adjectives to describe the greatness of this phenomenal woman. She was just like her poem. May she rest in peace.
