If America winds up in a war over this....

  1. Really? This is the video that pissed off Muslims?

  2. It makes me crazy. Nutjobs who salivate over the thought of war between the U.S. and radical Islam present these things, and people who have nothing to do with it are forced to pay in terms of their own flesh and blood. The "creators" don't care who lives and who dies. They don't care if they give radicals the excuse to declare a holy war against us--they want it. And they use the liberties people fought and died for to play irresponsible games with people's lives.

  3. As I've stated before, "When shitty fanfics of 24 portray Arab-Americans in a better light than this garbage, you’ve fucked up."

  4. This is just so ridiculous it would almost be funny in a pathetic way if it wasn't for the entire "possible international catastrophe" thing. People like this are just so sad to watch.

  5. I've gotta really bad head cold going on right now, so I won't be clicking to watch that movie anytime soon. My head hurts so bad already. But those of us old enough to remember the whole Salman Rushdie sich might be having a little bit of a deja vu.

I thought back then that peeps needed to have a thicker skin. I think along the same lines today. If it takes so little to spark off calling down a beheading on someone or bring a jihad on... we are in a lot of trouble.

That being said. Any excuse to (insert lets go to war here). The balance of the world is fragile enough without folks stirring things up whether by sheer ignorance or abject willfullness. Me? I'm tired of everyone starting wars over some crazy reasons. Granted I am a pacifist by upbringing and religion (Buddhist) but heck if we are going to waste human lives lets do it cuz a second Hitler has arisen or summat - not over some damn book or hack movie.

uggh need to go lay my sneezing self down: achoo!! Stop the madness!

  6. "These protests and riots in the Middle East aren't about a film. Those people you see foaming at the mouth in the streets were looking for a reason to protest and riot against the “great Satan”. It doesn’t matter if Barack Hussein Obama was the president or their own brother; their hatred for the West runs deep."

    1. Moreover there’s about 1,549,200,059 of them and about 300 million of us, their numbers span the globe. Historically, ‘The Great Satan’ as it were has always been synonymous with whitey, starting with the first diplomat to ever set foot on their land.

Great leaders from the West sent these men to smooth relations with the indigenous while opportunists slipped under the covers to play one region against the other. These people have good reason to hate us.

The very same reason the buffalo was nearly hunted to extinction is because the white man slaughtered them for profit. The white man forces himself upon the inhabitants, then exploits every natural resource before he leaves the land wanting. Western interests drawn from the ranks of Government, Corporations, and Profiteers led the charge, paying the holders of the land pittances in return.

Isn’t that what we do now? Destroy a village with a drone or two and then pay the families off with a few dollars. The only thing he really cares about is what the descendants of Ishmael are sitting on, and that’s OIL. The white man has no empathy whatsoever for the brown people who own the sacred emulsion and he’ll do whatever it takes to possess it. To borrow from Dune, he who controls the oil… controls the universe.

Lastly, you can’t presume to lead the world when you're telling its inhabitants, "Do as We Say, Not as We Do," because such hypocrisy never goes over well.

Amen. America wants to lead the world, but doesn't want to listen anyone - and then criticizes any President who would try to listen.

And for a country so appallingly infested with xenophobic narcissists, I find it utterly laughable that America actually even bothers to care whether or not people follow its example.

  7. What kind of tomfoolery is this. I don't know whether to laugh or throw my IPad at this hot mess of a video cuz it sure aint a real movie. Oh Lord, the creators of this crap need to go jump off a short bridge and break something. Ladies and Gents: This is High Grade Crap at it's Finest.

  8. Personally I feel the connection between the film and recently reported protests in some Muslim nations is coincidental. If they're saying all their anger is caused by this bullshit of a movie that's utter bullshit. These people have had a long and toxic relationship with the west, and every little barb adds up to an unreasonable offense. I see this movie as just a way of trivializing people's legitimate grievances. And I'm not going to be a part of this idea that they are wrong for feeling and reacting the way that they do. What would you have them do, just react and protest in a manner that you deem appropriate? I can't do that and I wouldn't given the amount of privilege and responsibility I have being a US citizen.

There's a rush to pretend that this film - alone - triggered riots across several countries. Bullcorn.

I know a lot of our pale, Western siblings don't believe this and don't want to hear this, but antagonizing the Islamic world is like taunting a dragon.

A lot of these countries don't like one another, aren't near one another, but their Muslim population is sufficient that if they decided to unite and finish off "the Great Satan" once and for all, they could do it.

Talk about awakening a sleeping giant? Keep on poking it with a stick and see what happens.

    1. Exactly. It's a like pygmy poking at a giant just to see what will happen.
