So, Yeah...Obama's Going to be President Again

The Republicans have all but handed him the presidency.  I don't even know why we're bothering with an election at this point.

First there's the matter of the competition, or rather, the lack thereof.

And then came the Holy Grail Sandra Fluke.

Talk about a Fatality.
What I want to talk about is the reaction to rush's comments from the republican candidates, and, to be more specific, the front runner. Mitt Romney has had quite a few days to denounce rush and his boorish comments straight out of the Paleolithic Age; but he didn't. All we got from Mitt was a very timid, "Not language I would have used." Harlot? Loose woman? Tramp? Floozy? What words, exactly, would Mitt have used?

...The problem is, of course, that others are watching. And the people who might make the difference in this coming election are starting to take notice. How can Mitt expect to stand up to Ahmadinejad if he can't stand up to rush? All rush has is a big mouth, the other guy might eventually have a nuke. The stakes are pretty high, so A-merry-cans really need to ask themselves these questions.

  1. "How can Mitt expect to stand up to Ahmadinejad if he can't stand up to rush? All rush has is a big mouth, the other guy might eventually have a nuke. " *nods* Exactly. The Republican party has been putting on a better show than Ringling Bros circus since they started campaigning. President Obama had already won his second term when the first candidate opened his mouth.

I'm convincing myself that the world is being trolled by the Republican Party. That has to be it.

Ok, that might be some wishful thinking on my party, but so far they've alienated POC, LGQT, and women voters - quite a large chunk of the electorate when you put them all together (not to mention where all three intersect). I'm confused as to what their game plan could be, because it can't be ousting Obama from the White House.

^ on my part, sorry. Clearly I have elections on the brain (do. not. want!).

    5. You fight until the end. There is absolutely no space for complacency in a world where we keep shaking our heads at the audacity of people to believe in bunk, junk science or obvious inaccuracies.

Have we learnt nothing from history?. Victory is never guaranteed. It's not even assured. You can be smarter, prettier, taller, younger, a perfect figure 8 and still place 2nd next to the woman with the body of a prepubescent boy.

It doesn't matter how crazy some statements are, what matters is the people who want to hear them not necessarily because they are more because they are audacious! & aggressive!.

      re: LGBT & Women voters.
People have always and will continue to vote against their own interests for some of the most ridiculous reasons... such as :
'I just don't like the way he/she looks'
'he/she is too calm, I don't trust it'
'he /she is not performing to the stereotype i expect, therefore they are not authentic and I won't trust them'
'Yeah, I know he/she is against xyz. But he is upfront about it, I don't believe the other person when he/she says they are against abc' better the devil you know *giggle*
'I see what this person is saying, its right... but this is the way we have always voted/ done things/'
'I'm a traditional xyz this is what we do'.

With the chaos going on right now within, there is nothing we can afford to be complacent about.
Victory cannot be proclaimed until it has been achieved. We must concentrate on the end game.
      Whatever your affiliation is.

Oh, I wouldn't suggest people relax just yet. I sincerely hope that the Democrats are running a solid on-the-ground campaign while these shenanigans are going on. They need to get people registered to vote AND get them out there on election day. This better be what they're doing while they wait to see who the GOP will be putting up as their representative.

    7. I agree with ab. Unfortunately, people always, and I do mean always, vote against their interest because of bs reasons. I know that many are not really satisfied with the Pres right now but I would rather have him run things then those whack jobs on the right. These guys are going to put women, lgbtq, and minorities back a few decades to assure the supremacy of the white christian male. Hell I wouldnt put it past them if they decide to bring back slavery. If they could do it they would.

The Prez didn't even have to spend that much in campaign costs.

    Dear Idiot Republicans,

Are these losers the best that you can do? Do you truly believe any of them can unite enough of the country to oust me from the Oval Office? Are you all really that stupid? I hope you enjoy my next four years. Thanks for making my re-election easy and cost-effective.

    Love,

    Barack Obama, POTUS

P.S. Enjoy lusting after my bombshell wife for another four years.

      Yes. Its possible.
Hatred unites people quicker than love. If you rile up the majority of any population enough they will cut off their nose in order to spite their faces.

Even when you are winning, you keep your guard up till the whistle.

    1. About Rush? This was right on time. I'm soooo tired of him. I'm glad that he did make that statement, not because I agree with what he said.. no no..but because I couldn't wait for the day where he would put his foot in his mouth and I'm happy that he did with this woman. If I was in Sandra's place, I wouldn't accept his insincere apologies. He just sorry because he's losing some money from his advertisers

    2. @Hazel,
You aren't kidding. But he's gotten away from so much, I can see him feeling emboldened enough to go after a economically privileged white woman. He's done black speak, Asian speak, and everything else mocking and fomenting hatred against POC.

What is irksome about the firestorm surround this latest controversy is that narcissistic white women show once again why feminism is their own private all-white party. They are acting like this is the first and only awful thing he has said, and are going back to crying about how everyone is just so misogynistic and anti-woman, and some are even invoking Hilary's "mistreatment" by the left. Kind of off topic, but while Hilary is well-educated, they kind of irk me by ignoring that like so many of them, she got to leap to the front of the line b/c of who she was sleeping with/married to. Whatever they want to do, a white man will give it to them when they want it.

But hearing them whine about how sexism is the worst ism in the world makes me wish I could bitch slap a whole lot of people.

And why does no one ever attack the fact that most insurance companies act like a man needs to be able to get a boner until the day he dies? It's not a medical need for men to fuck. Sorry, but it's not. So why do they refuse to EVER answer people who point out that hypocrisy but then whine about financing slutty sluts and all of their slutty sex? (I've never had insurance that didn't cover birth control, as well as pretty generous fertility treatments, but I know that for people working for smaller companies and small businesses, this isn't standard).

So I'm pissed by this but pissed as white women once again show that nothing matters/exists until it happens to them.

And I don't underestimate the stupidity of the American public and consider the election to be over just b/c of the clown show in the GOP. Anyone who doubts white privilege only needs to examine how racist idiots like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Rick Santorum become national figures, or how tone deaf, robotic, uncharismatic rich white guys like Mitt Romney do well competing in both the public and private sector. Minorities with his credentials do NOT get treated so well in corporate America. They tell you (as I've experienced) that somehow your blue chip education isn't so important when you are the one who has it and they are the ones who don't . But then they will prance it around as a reason why he is qualified to run a company or the country. I mean, people still act like Obama is a straight up idiot and he and Michelle have the same damn kind of education as Romney only they didn't have legacy and connections to get into those schools.

Seriously, when has a black woman as stupid as Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann ever gotten so far?

@Nicthommi - Hell, people were grumbling when Condoleeza Rice was granted a high position in Bush's cabinet, and she has more qualifications than Palin and Bachmann combined. If she were as dumb as those two? Wow....maybe the best she'd get is a post on the cleaning staff.

And I'm with you on the birth control issue. If they want to attack contraceptive methods from a religious point of view, then they better get rid of all those erectile dysfunction meds on the market. If God wanted you to have a stiffy, you'd get one naturally. I don't see how you wanting Little Man to salute on command is A-OK, but a woman regulating her fertility is not. Either way, it's humankind interfering with the 'natural process', so ban all or ban none.

    4. Seriously, when has a black woman as stupid as Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann ever gotten so far?
      NEVER

Matter of fact when has a black woman had the luxury of just being free to be themselves.
My recent experience has reminded me that I need to be on point at all times in everything. I used to resent that. Now... I'm going to make it a badge of honour.
      Who wan test we?

That is why white feminist get the side eye. Feminism for a lot of them is just another way to maintain their privilege. They don't consider WoC in their discussions. If WoC were welcomed in their movement the "Women are Niggers of the world" poster would never had been made.

"So I'm pissed by this but pissed as white women once again show that nothing matters/exists until it happens to them."

Exactly! How many sexist things have been said about Michelle Obama? I didn't see any uproar from these so called feminist. But notice how they're constantly defending Hilary Clinton. They're pro-choice but failed to protest that disgusting billboard attacking the black female womb. And they still refuse to acknowledge the racist beginnings of birth control.

Also take into account that Condoleeza Rice had a title and it is DR.!!! They instead of using her rightful title constantly called her Condi? There was no respect there.

  7. Somehow, I think they may be intentionally "sabotaging" themselves just because they can. I mean how else can you explain the circus that's going on now. Like Nichotomi, I don't underestimate the power of white privilege. They know that, regardless of their behavior, the majority wins. And they will do everything within their power to make sure of that. Even infringing on the voting rights of minorities and setting us back 40 some-odd years is considered fair game.

I've never been a staunch believer in the principles and teachings of Malcolm X but this is when the phrase "by any means necessary" make more and more sense.

  8. I don't know K, as much as I want to believe that people will see the Republicans for what they are and NOT elect them... I've learned very quickly not to underestimate white people. Because if one of these "people" get elected it will be because the white people hated Obama soooo much.

    Shits ridiculous.
