9 out of 10 Times, Just Go with "Yes" (Updated)

It’s frustrating that non-white women are rarely portrayed as equally attractive as white women.

It’s frustrating when I am attracted to a white woman and have to wonder if Eurocentrism is warping my perception.

~ Elton, guest on the Asian Panel at Racialicious
I read this about a day ago, and then tonight, the lil sis insisted we watch Kick-Ass (2010).  Like Moi, she's amused that it's an R-rated film about superheroes, in which an underaged girl kicks everyone's asses.  She suggested I tell everyone at the bar to watch it, but that's not why I'm bringing it up...nor will I talk about its good-looking British star, and how he needs to hurry up and do a British BW/WM project.

No, no...I'm here to talk about his love interest in Kick-Ass.

She's the "pretty" girl who initially thinks he's too good for him, then tries to be his friend because she thinks he's gay and has apparently longed for a gay boyfriend to call her own, and then ends up going out with him.  Through it all, in his eyes, this bitch can do no wrong.

Now, let's look at her through my eyes.

Actress Lyndsy Fonseca portrays "Katie", fulfilling what TVTropes.org defines as a Cookie Cutter Cutie to a T.  There is nothing physically remarkable or distinctive about her whatsoever.  She's a generic Hollywhite brand of pretty which we've already seen countless times.  If she'd fallen ill the first day of shooting, the casting agent could've replaced her without batting an eyelash, and the audience would've been none the wiser.

But that's not what gets me.

As the love interest in this film, her job is basically to be stuck-up, self-centered, and eventually unleash the white woman tears.  She doesn't really "do" anything and by the end of the film, any viewer with brain cells might pause to wonder exactly what purpose she serves.

But that's not what gets me.

What gets me is how her eventual boyfriend describes her during their obligatory fight: lovely, kind, decent, etc.  And that really gets to me.

This heffa got her face broken while fucking around with the drug-dealing leader of a gang.  And later, when she and the leading male become a couple, she fucks him behind a comic book store, up against a grimy dumpster.  Yet we at home aren't supposed to pause and ask WTF is wrong with this girl.  Not once is she held accountable for her mess, nor is her behavior questioned - not once.  She's just told things are not are her fault and that there's nothing wrong with her.

Men of color, if you find yourselves drawn to white women onscreen and in real life and you're not sure why, just go ahead and attribute it to Eurocentric conditioning, because although POC are more vigilant, we are not immune.  Day after day you are told white women are literally perfect, and you are not given half the chance to question anything about them, nor assume that they have any flaws.  When they tan, you're not supposed to question.  When they plump their lips, tits, or backsides, you're not supposed to question.  When they add tracks of Asian hair to their own, you're not supposed to question.  When they can't do anything for themselves, don't seem to know anything, and don't appear to serve any kind of purpose, you're still not supposed to question, but you are supposed to feel insecure and unworthy all the while.

And right there, MoC, is your cue to question.

So question.  Demand what is so special about a white girl you're digging both onscreen and in person.  Ask yourselves aloud what the hell this woman does that is so great, other than cry, be catered to, and abstain from eating.  If you just want to fuck her, that's one thing, but if you want to actually date her, then questions must be asked.  That is the responsible thing to do when pursuing an actual relationship.  Because along with the Cookie Cutter Cutie trope, TVTropes.org provides us with the Faux Action Girl trope, in which an alleged female bad-ass's abilities are told to the audience, but never shown.  A similar reasoning applies here; I call it the Faux Worthy Love Interest trope, and I am beyond tired of it.

Don't just assume her kindness and decency without proof.  Don't believe she's smart and funny just because she tells you she is, or someone else says that about her.  Make sure you get to see all this shit for yourself.  Because if you find yourself having trouble seeing any other benefits beyond her whiteness, then your question should never be, "Am I good enough for her?" but rather, "Is she good enough for me?"

**Update** Another helpful test is reversal.  Take Lyndsy Fonseca's role as "Katie" - keeping it exactly as it is, with everything she says and does - and make her Black.  Not Asian, not Latina - Black.  Once you've created that clear picture in your minds, ask yourselves honestly if 1) you'd still be digging her this much, and 2) if the audience would be this tolerant and forgiving of her behavior.  Always check for that particular inequality.  Because if it seems like something "only the white girl gets away with", then congratulations...your Eurocentric brainwashing was successful, and you need some serious help.

  1. I actually liked kick-ass and that girl bothered me aswell. The thing is they kinda pitied the main character in the film cause in the comic when he reveals that he's the super hero "kick-Ass" she shows him a photo of her giving fellatio to her boyfriend then have said boyfriend beat him up. All I could think was what an ungrateful bitch.

With that said, I can understand how you feel. Great post Ankh.

  2. Ahh many a movie have I watched with my sisters asking the same question over and over: "Why is this bish so special? She ain't even did nothing!"The male lead is falling all over himself trying to get with this bland blank pretty girl. And I say pretty because for me it means adequate. Because she girls are only just getting by as far as I'm concerned.

I noticed it in books sometimes too. Like these boring ass no personality having white girls have men falling all over themselves. I know when I said that some people are thinking Bella from the twilight series but the person I'm pointing fingers at is Mona Mayair, the cheery slutty teen From Blackwood farm an Anne Rice novel. Seriously that's all she is cheery, slutty and young. There's nothing else too her and yet men think she's so special. Again my sisters and I were scratching our heads trying to figure out what all the fuss was about.
This phenomenon isn't going anywhere any time soon. I may scratch my head bald trying to figure this shit out.

Oh, the questions MoC do NOT ask, because they're so busy feeling unworthy and insecure. That Eurocentricity is a mofo.

  5. You know I loved kick ass, but I couldn't figure what the lead male saw in the female lead, because her behavior was awful imo. And then I flashed back to a conversation I had with a black male friend about a very attractive girl in our graduating class during high school. I said she would be a no brainer for prom queen since she was the most attractive girl in our class, he said while that's true she wouldn't win. I asked why and he bluntly told me because she's not white. We went back and forth over this, but in the end he basically laid out for me that in the messed up world we llive in" whiteness" still trumps everything. Over the years I've noticed its true. White women are considered valuable, worthy, and placed on a pedestal just for having less melanin. I've watched white women in college have nasty behavior and attitudes and never be called out (heck sometimes they were even defended) I've watched black women raise their voice once and be told they were scary and intimidating. I've watched woc I know with naturally long hair have to defend its authenticity and their blackness on a regular basis while white women I know with hair extensions never once be questioned of their hairs authenticty and even praised of its length and fullness. I even watched white women I know stare in shock when witnessing a woc in a relationship with a non-moc; like they had just seen a UFO. Its a sad reality we live in when whiteness trumps, genuine beauty, strength of character and even at times just being a down right wonderful person.

  6. I know I've been programmed into this damn matrix of whiteness where white women are perfect or the best kind of woman no matter how many flaws they have or how unbearable they are. I've met and known several white women that have taken that in and as a result, have two kinds of egos: the "Princess Perfect" and the "Queen Bitch". Yet, those two have admirers and "friends" that see nothing wrong with them. I said to myself, WTF?!?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I read a comment from a white person once saying, "If you don't want us to have this much power, then stop giving it to us." Everyone jumped onto that commenter, including Moi, but years later, I've had time to think.

We give them that power, and we hand it over willingly. We strengthen them whenever we pay for their media, tolerate uneven relationships with them, and erroneously side with them against fellow POC.

I had a former coworker who was Colombian-American and was clearly crazy about white girls. He thought that white Europeans were the most perfect people on Earth. But he was also a bit torn up by how every white girl he pursued saw him as expendable and leavable, and I could always see how heavily that weighed on him. So one day I told him flat-out, "The only reason you think this way about white people is that you were raised here. Had your parents raised you in Colombia, you wouldn't think this way."

To which he paused and replied, "I guess you're right. The type of girl who's considered prettiest here would be considered ugly in Colombia."

  8. Pepp:

All that you said is simply White American Woman's Fantasy. You see this not only in movies and books but in TV shows. Look at Weeds, The United States of Tara, The Big C, hell even True Blood. In all of these, you got WW behaving atrociously yet all these folks, especially men, are falling all over themselves to do for this bishes.

And none of these women, physically, is anything to write home about. The ones considered the most attractive, Nancy Botwin of Weeds and Sookie Stackhouse from True Blood don't look all that special except they both wear the shortest, skimpiest and most revealing outfits. Hell, a dude'd look at an 80 year old titty if it's just hanging out there. Doesn't mean he likes the view. Basically, they dress like cheap hookers, especially Nancy who is supposed to be around MY age, and get treated like ladies. Nancy's biggest bit is she's tall and skinny with no boobs and ass and Sookie's got a gap in her teeth you can kick a field goal through. Looks wise, Tara has it ALL OVER Sookie. I saw a picture of Rutina Wesley posing as Tara that made me want to live in the gym and never eat again. That heffa is beautifully CUT.

Part of this WAWF is that they get to put WoC, especially BW in our places. Nancy and Tara from United States of Tara, both use BW and dump us when they're done. Nancy uses Blacks to get the weed she sells and Tara when she's bored at home. They think nothing of it. At one point in the storyline, it's implied that bony-ass, suburban Nancy actually beat up a streetwise, BW.

These women are often presented as role models, as fearless independent women, yet all or most of their success and lifestyles come from their relationships with the men in their lives and how they use those men. So basically, if you're a WW, you can use people, treat people like disposable objects, only have what you have via the men in your life and still present yourself as fearless, I-am-woman-hear-me-roar, independent, role-model-worthy woman if you're White.

The thing is, WW often think they can do this ish in real life. They try to treat BW they way they see their media heroes do and are shocked when they get the response they deserve. And then that leads to WWT and them shrieking and bleating about how BW are sooooo meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaan because we're probably all jealous of their White female glory.

  9. I agree with you all. And the sad part is that we see this happen in real life. Remember the Teacher who had sex with her 14 year old student. She was "too pretty for jail"! Now what kind of bull is that?

Or how white women were appalled Tiger Woods would cheat on Elin? It was the ultimately fear. If a lowly Negro could treat the pinnacle of Aryan beauty like that, what hope was there for them?

  12. And this is also why when many white folks are smacked with the reality that they aren't by default the prettiest, the smartest or the bestest (yes bestest) in all things like the media would have them believe, that's why they flip their shit when white men choose WOC over them, when the best performer in the office is a MOC, when gay men are still uninterested in white women as friends and/or sexual partners (don't even get me started).

This is why they act rabid and loose their fucking mind. Because what they've been programmed to believe doesn't sync with reality.

  13. This just reminded me of Scott Pilgrim and the character of Knives. That girl KICKED ASS! Literally! But they also made her into this obsessed mindless teenager who had the hots for this run of the mill looking guy who didn't return her affections but was perfectly fine mooning after some boring looking damsel in distress white girl. HE HAD TO FIGHT WITH ALL HER 7? EXES in order to be able to date her (the white girl). The entire time i was saying to myself, "knives is too good for this guy". Ank, if you haven't seen Scott Pilgrim, please watch. Oh, Knives was Asian.

  16. This is a little OT but Ill be brief:
There's a pretty funny movie about this called Pretty Persuasion.

The protagonist is a rich prep school girl. Her father is on his third marriage and ignores her. Shes trying to be an actress but other than the fact that shes a brunette nothing distinguishes her from all the other hopeful actresses.

And shes a ruthless bitch, dripping with white privilege.

It's a comedy and Evan Rachel Woods performance is spot on( as far as actresses go, I like her most of her work). She acts so superior to everyone in the film as she manipulates them for her own ends but it's painfully clear that she's bitter/pathetic/insecure. This is also played for laughs but the point about her true character which she barely hides and how people react to her due to her "innocent, sweet appearance"...bitch is anything but.

I got a certain satisfaction from seeing the characters who fell for her act get screwed over since if they payed attention they would know what type of person she was.

I know this is a common trope in films too but
I've known/know so many white women like this in real life it's funny to see them portrayed the way they actually are as opposed to how society likes to view them.

Given the choice I would rather watch something like that, than a film that puts girls like the one in "Kick-Ass" on a pedestle.

  17. White people never have to prove themselves deserving. No one ever questions how they got into a certain college, why they were hired over other candidates, why they are given favorable loan terms, how they are able to buy houses in certain neighborhoods. It is always assumed that they deserve what they have. Whites are always given the benefit of the doubt. It is the rest of us who are constantly expected to prove ourselves.

As far as the princess behavior, I encountered that with an ex-friend of mine. After I was unwilling to drop everything and fly across the country to have coffee with her she pulled out the white women tears, wrote a long entry on her public blog about how easy my life had been, how I was such Ms.Perfect and how I was judging her for having skipped class and smoked cigs in high school. Cause clearly I had nothing better to do in high school than keep track of her behavior. We never even had classes together yet somehow I'm supposed to be tracking and judging her whereabouts. She keeps trying to reconnect and adds me on every social networking site but I am so done with her.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Funny thing about this character (she's too irrelevant for me to remember her name) is that she is much worse in the comics. She completely loses any interest in him when she finds out he's straight. Iirc, she calls up her boyfriend to beat him up and ends up sending him photos of her having sex with her new boyfriend (who I think was black...smh) out of spite. In the comics, the writer makes it very clear that she's despicable and not someone to be admired. Hollywood went and changed that, of course, and turned her into the basic, vanilla, beige ass girlfriend.

While we're on the topic of Eurocentric conditioning, if I have to listen to Hollywood try to convince me that ugly white women like Blake Lively, Anna Paquin, and Taylor Swift are "beautiful" one more time I will rage. They are not beautiful, they are not even average. If they were walking down the street, I would pity them for how unfortunate looking they are. Why is it just because they're white and skinny that I, and the rest of the world, are being told to believe they're beautiful? I understand that beauty is subjective, but WOC don't have the privilege of being told their beautiful by the world despite having below average beauty. Sorry, I refuse to buy into that shit.

I think Bella Swan was more of an attempt. I say this because she has more than her fair share fellow white folks ripping her a new one. The moment the first Twilight movie came out, they flat-out weren't buying it.

But the fact that the attempt was even made was unforgivable. Talk about the World's Most Useless Heroine award.

  21. I just had to say that one thing about hollywtf that is constantly driving me nuts when it comes to white privledge of white women, is that no matter how trifling a" pretty" young white actresses behavior may be on and off set, there always seems to be endless second chances for them. Or when they "get it together" finally, some E! News special will be done about their comeback or recovery. And even though I think there are plenty of beautiful white women, whose looks I acknowledge, is it just me, or does blonde hair and blue eyes seem to be the top ideal for whites and their beauty scale. Every white person I know seems to automatically give ten beauty points for someone having either blonde hair or blue eyes, and twenty points for both, even if the owner of these traits really isn't good looking. Sometimes this thought process of many whites really scares me.

I've heard the "scientific" explanation for this fixation. Apparently, "our ancestors" (whut? some people's ancestral communities/gene pools didn't contain blonde people? Huh?) viewed blonde hair as a a rare and valuable trait.

Also, there's apparently something scienterrific about blondeness "reflecting light" that makes about as much sense as a sea urchin on a bicycle. AFAIK, the blue eyes thing is just about recessive genes being ace (obvs).

  25. According the HollyNazi, here's what they think of women.

    Black Woman: Loud and Sassy
    Latina: Loud and Spicy
Asian: Quiet and naive (Model Minority anyone?)
Arab: Can't tell if she's ugly or cute.
    Native American: Cute little Savage.
    White Woman: Innocent and pretty.

Who do you think they will go for?

Also explain to me why in Transformers that Sam's new girlfriend despite the Autobots and the Decpecon fighting, she was still wearing make up?

  27. @idiclove, no it is not just you. Add to that the fact that female stars who were previously brunette and not viewed as beauties are treated like they are suddenly goddesses if they dye their hair blond(and say lose 10-20 pounds from an already small body). I'd say Anna Paquin is a GREAT example of that. She is in no way pretty, and when she still had her naturally dark hair, I don't recall anyone acting like she was sexy. But now as the blond Sookie, her homely face is suddenly supposed to render all men powerless. Bleh. I read a hilarious comment somewhere that Alexander Skaarsgard deserved an Emmy for having to act like Anna Paquin was good-looking.

The same thing was true of the late Brittany Murphy. Not a good looking girl, but when she became super skinny and bleached her hair, suddenly she was treated like a "hot" girl by the industry and the press. Paris Hilton is another ugly blond. I could list about ten blond Hollywood actresses that i consider homely that are treated like beautiful goddesses. And my own personal bias that makes them less attractive is that most of them are shaped like 8 year old boys, but that is a topic for another post. If you are naturally small as people I know in real life are, that is one thing, but the elevation of a non-female shape as being an ideal is so odd to me. No breasts, no thighs, no butt. Literally, women who look like they never hit puberty.

They take lots of average to below average women who aren't blonds and also make them "it" girls however...Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart, Emily Deschanel. All of them remind me of girls I'd have known growing up who would NOT have been considered pretty at all.

And you can tell that plenty of them buy into the idea that no matter how homely or plain, they will get all of the attention or have the option of all men that they choose, including MOC.

    ReplyDelete

Yeah...that's something I used to rant about a LOT. Female = round tits, thick thighs, round buttocks, even if you're small. That's what women look like. That's what gynophiles are drawn to.

So what's it say when women are being discouraged to look like women and, more importantly, encouraged to look like prepubescent boys? And America wonder's why it has such a huge pedophile problem....

Speaking of ugly blondes treated like goddesses, Keira I-look-like-Skeletor Knightley needs to go eat something and retire from movies altogether.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, Keira Knightley is another one. Ugly face and no body. And if you dare criticize her, it's b/c you are promoting obesity. I dislike how you cannot point out that these women look like 9 year old boys without someone accusing you of promoting unhealthy lifestyles (irony since so many of these women are substantially smaller now than they were 10-20 years ago depending on their age, yet we are supposed to believe that at 40 they are naturally smaller than they were at 25?)

So the features that are most often seen on black women are called "fat" unless they are on a non-black woman. I'm so tired of seeing women with nice thighs and naturally large breasts and round butts being called fat even when they have small waists and arms. Or women who have nice shapes being demonized because they don't weigh 100 lbs. There are shapely women at a variety of sizes, and from health standpoint, carrying your weight in your butt and thighs does not lead to health risks. And we never get credit for having naturally large breasts either. I have a lot of very small friends with large cup sizes, the kinds that WW pay thousands of dollars t to have shoved into otherwise emaciated bodies. So they call it ugly all they want, it doesn't give you a heart attack.

But yeah, very few of the blond women in Hollyweird are anything to look twice at.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hollywood definitely messes people up when it comes to female body issues. If your small framed and very lean you're encouraged to get a boob job and look like a playmate. If you're naturally thick and larger framed you're labled obese and told to loose weight until you look unhealthy. I have a friend who is petite and small framed like kate hudson or zoe saldana who could eat fifty cheeseburgers and a pizza, but she's never going to have big boobs orcurves. She ended up getting a breast job and other work done just to fit some perfect body ideal for a past boyfriend. I have another friend who was naturally curvy who has lost way too much weight to look like a super model. Both of these wome have ruined what made them naturally beautiful. I think its ashame that hollywood and the media has distorted what's healthy looking and overshadows the fact that everyones body is different, there is no one size fits all, but the media sure likes to make us think there is.

White males like em young and thin and preferably boyish. You can go all the way back to the flapper to see the lengths some women were willing to go to catch a white man’s eye. It’s disturbing to say the least. On forums I’ve visited run by white males their avatars are of skinny- boyish looking women with huge breasts. I’ve argued (and I’ve been flamed in newsgroups) by white males who assumed to tell me authoritatively that men (meaning All Men in their reasoning) are attracted to young, healthy thin women.

Its no surprise that the dichotomy that exists between white and black extends to our perceptions of beauty as well. Beauty it seems is in the eyes of those with power. This is why we will continue to see these extreme body types promoted as the norm in movies and magazines, because white males are still in control of the narrative. Moreover, it might be why we’re seeing such a rise in pedophile related crimes amongst white males. White women just aren’t young and thin or boyish enough to satisfy the whims of an ever demanding white male appetite; because only a white man would think this is appropriate.

And would explain the ever-increasing white female draw to black men. Heterosexual, grown-up black men aren't going to chase after a woman who looks like a boy. Nor will Latino men.

I concur wholeheartedly. Not sure how many are old enough to remember the Playtex Living Girdle commercials, with white woman bragging how the garment gave them that boyish figure. I’ve never... ever, never-ever-ever understood the reasoning behind that ad. But it would explain Jerry Lee Lewis's 13 year old bride; as well as 51 year-old Doug Hutchinson’s 16 year-old spouse. Or Stanley Kubrick’s 1962 treatment of the Vladimir Nabokov novel, Lolita.

    From Wikipedia:
“The actress who played Lolita, Sue Lyon, was fourteen at the time of filming. Kubrick later commented that, had he realized how severe the censorship limitations were going to be, he probably never would have made the film.”

It also brings to mind Bill Paxton’s comment in James Cameron’s action film, True Lies. “Ass Like a Ten-Year-Old Boy!!” I just shook my head.

  35. @M. Gibson. I think a lot of what you've mentioned also explains why white men are wild about Asian women. They stereotype them as all being built like 9 year old boys who are sexually down for anything. I've always questioned the mentality of a man who is sexually aroused seeing a body that looks as if it did not hit puberty dressed up in a hooker dress and hooker heels, but they seem to LOVE it.

I've always questioned the mentality of a man who is sexually aroused seeing a body that looks as if it did not hit puberty dressed up in a hooker dress and hooker heels, but they seem to LOVE it.

I’ve questioned it too. Every time Hollywood exploits a child actress to turn a buck I question it. Starting with Shirley Temple on up. In her 1988 autobiography, the actress describes the Baby Burlesks as "a cynical exploitation of our childish innocence.

Thirteen year-old Jodie Foster will be remembered as the 12-year-old child prostitute in Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver. A then 12 year-old Brook Shields made her film debut as a child prostitute in the film Pretty Baby. And let’s not forget little 13 year-old Natalee Portman who made her film debut in Léon (also known as The Professional). Hollywood has always hidden behind the moniker of Art to carry out its wildest and sickest fantasies. Slap the word Art on any endeavor and you can get away with damn-near anything.

For the discriminating white man, some Asian women can be ordered from a catalogue as if it were Sears & Roebucks. White men/teens assume them to be docile… obedient; child-like and demur. All the qualities a white man is looking for in a slave bride. Now that’s control. Because chances are, she may not be all that familiar with the language; the laws of the land or her rights. Keep her ignorant and you maintain control over her. Its privilege and power used in a disgusting way, all based on stereotypes.

  39. @M. Gibson.
Yes, and Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis are two actresses that to me look as though they never hit puberty. I've seen Natalie Portman in person and she was child-sized (I'm only 5'6). I read that she and Mila Kunis, who I think is also pretty tiny, actually lost 20 lbs or so for their roles.
But when you say their names, WM will go gaga as if they are most sexiest women around and have the most perfect bodies. And I say. How? Where? What about them is womanly in the least bit? I'm personally amazed that Natalie actually had a baby.
Yes, WM love the idea of women that they can control. They make up their own narratives to explain why these women might want them. Russian brides I think have become super popular b/c the ethnic Russians and Ukrainians are VERY white and there is an idea that a good-looking Russian girl of 18-20 wants nothing more than to marry a chunky middle-aged man. (Similar things are said about Asian women not being materialistic or into looks, and they neglect to consider how a little American money is enough for a "materialistic" girl from a developing nation. I went to Russia and we were told that the girls there were skinny b/c they were too poor to eat-country girls move to Moscow to find their fortunes and that city is insanely expensive; but it makes it a fertile ground for WM trolling for skinny, young brides).

    lol
That put so many images in head about lecherous pot-bellied white men; thinking all of their fantasies will come true (once his new bride arrives by UPS).

  41. @Nicthommi and M. Gibson,

Don't you just love how those dudes think they deserve Russian or Asian 10s when on a damn, good and generous day their ass barely scratches a 5?

Oh, mate. Some completely White blokes struggle with the notion of there being more than one body type amongst Asian women. I've had them argue with me when I tell them that my round-arsed, round-faced, thick-middled, curved-thighed, small-to-medium-boobed body is typical of the Filo stock I partially spring from (except for my height and lighter skin). Nope, I'm "making excuses" for the result of "exposure to Western food." Only fraglie little flowers exist in Asia!

Barely a 5 is way too generous for the likes of these men. But you're point is well taken. We see such standards mirrored in sitcoms. Where fat beer-gut laden men are wifing up anorexic bimbos. Frankly, I didn’t start paying attention to the King of Queens until Leah Remini put on weight. Kevin James, James Belushi- Jackie Gleason of, The Honeymooners; all portly fellows with skinny wives. Pot-bellied white men live precariously through these characters, so they figure they’re still catches.

Ahh, but a child-like Asian nymph who can fulfill all their fantasies, “just like in those porn movies” they figure. It must have been pure hell for Asian women after the war, with white men flooding the landscape after the fall of Japan. “to the victor go the spoils” many white men thought. There are documentaries showing white soldiers cuddling up next to these women - still numb from conflict; forced into terrible situations just to feed their families. It was a feeding frenzy for white men with fetishes. (Mind the music.)

  44. @Perla, clearly those guys have never had Phillipino food (I'm assuming Filo is the British term for Phillipino)...yum!! Totally off-topic but I consider it to be Asian Soul Food.
So many kinds of Asian women, so many ethnicities, and they all picture the same thing. And I guess if you are over 5 feet tall, it's b/c of hormones in the food.
@Witchsistah, yes, it does indeed slay me. Porky, socially maladjusted, unsuccessful, unattractive WM always think that they deserve subservient 10s.

They think all they need to do is show up White. That their Whiteness should be more than enough for us lowly darkies. If they're fat, then that's just more White for us to love. And what do we need with social, mental, intellectual equals? Ain't being with a WM enough for us?!

  46. I think that is why they tend to mainly want oversexed BW for a roll in the hay. We are much to sassy, bossy, and hard to control, but apparently we are magical in bed (just don't tell anyone after it's done! Can't let anyone know that you actually touched one.)

  47. Because if it seems like it's something "only the white girl gets away with", then congratulations...your Eurocentric brainwashing was successful, and you need some serious help.
