Count the Fail

This caused quite a stir over on the Narrative. If you haven't already seen this, I strongly suggest you brace yourself, grab a bucket, and expect to spew at least a geyser of vomit.

  1. White savior complex anyone? It reminds me of that Mad TV skit "Nice White Lady." Cause that's all the world needs to solve it's problems, a nice white lady to come buy some diapers. :/

There is so much fail in this commerical. Where are the poor white womenz that need life saving vaccines? Also, where is the agency of the mothers carrying those babies? Cause best believe they are doing something if their children are sick. And I like how all the non-white/non-Christian mothers and their babies are decked in "ethnic" garb to distinguish them from the white woman pushing her baby in a carriage. Due to imperialism, colonialism and exporting of US goods a lot of non-white/non-Western folk wear jeans and t-shirts.

So yeah . . . what the hell is this shit?

  2. I've seen this commercial before. I dismissed it to be completely honest. I guess I've just been tired of the foolishness raging on television these days.

  4. ... Did those babies seriously run away from their mothers to hug this strange Nice White Lady??

  5. @ Eva
Yes. Don't you know that all babies of color do that? It's like they're naturally drawn to white people like metal to magnets.

  6. Excuse me while I throw up in my mouth a little.

  7. Student of the World, I love you! Haha! Magnets are the perfect metaphor for the kids in these videos. They become so animated and alive at the presence of this white woman. XD

  8. This is some freshly squeezed bullshit right here.

So many fails my fail detector is hay-wiring. I still wish MADtv was still on they would make such a great parody to this. The tagline at the end could "White women, saving brown babies one diaper at a time."

"Or White women, you people really need us."

    LMAO

  9. WTF WTF...absolute and utter bullshit.

To top it off, they even used a woman with slightly accented english for the voice over.

  10. Wow! Way to "other" Pampers! Nice work! Got all the mommies dressed up in their "native" and "ethnic" AKA "opposite of white American" clothing. Edward Said probably just turned in his grave.

Why not take it all the way and show their dads, too? You know, like the kid in the poncho - his dad could be asleep under a tree with his sombrero pulled down over his face and a bottle of tequila loosely gripped in his mitt. Or the nondescript Asian woman with the hat on her back... Yeah, her husband could be shown hard at work in a Chinese food restaurant spitting funny quips, vying for his place in a John Hughes film. The dads can all give a head-nod to American White Dad who celebrates Cinco de Mayo and loves him some General Tso chicken.

  11. Never a dull moment for whites to make themselves look superior and kind to everyone else.

  12. Why not take it all the way and show their dads, too?

    *chuckles* Because this is "feminism"...remember?
