Underappreciated Actor of Another Color #26: Sean Baek

(Thanks, Kelli!)

Born in Pusan, South Korea, Sean Baek is a Canada-raised and based actor whom I first glimpsed in an episode of Queer as Folk.  He played a Japanese character, and I noticed his lips (I always notice the lips).  It was hard as hell to find out who he was and there wasn't that much info on him.  Hell, there's not that much more now, but after participating in some Blasian love gone horribly wrong in Lifetime's Taken from Me, he's finally attracting some well-deserved attention.

Sean here tries to stay busy, but it's mostly TV movies, TV eps, and shorts.  Which, quite naturally, offends me; he belongs on the big screen.  Maybe he needs more fans; you know...more people to scribble about him and demand to see more of him.  We can start by following him on Twitter; he goes by kimchibrotha (for real).

  1. O_O Wow.

It's like trying to look at the sun, man. I need to take him in in minute doses at a time. I mean...wow.

But seriously, (rhetorical question time) why isn't he all over the place?

    *nods* I blame the lips.

  3. Those eyes are just so...hypnotizing. It's like Mother Earth saved her most prized parts for Baek's beautiful face.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this!! This beautiful man should have those cheekbones plastered EVERYwhere! His face is so sensual looking! I'd eat him alive, with a side of kimchi, for REAL!

  5. Damn...first his lips, then eyes, now cheekbones.

Then he really is as beautiful as I think he is.

  7. Was he the prostitute that Emmett fell in love with?

Has to be. While QAF was a wonderful show, it could've done better on the POC representation.

    And Mr. Baek,

I don't recall anyone saying you were allowed to wear a shirt. Don't let it happen again.

  10. Damn; I meant to write about this man a while back. Had I known he'd attract this much attention I would've gone ahead and done it a long time ago!
